The 2019 Puligny-Montrachet Les Chalumaux 1er Cru has a very focused bouquet, vivid scents of lemon zest, petrichor and white flowers unfolding in the glass. The palate is very well balanced with a fine bead of acidity. Gentle and lilting in style, this has a winsome, beautifully defined finish that lingers in the mouth. Expect this to land at the top of my banded score.
