The 2019 Pommard Les Rugiens 1er Cru has a perfumed bouquet with light brambly red fruit, freshly tilled loamy soil, tobacco and light bay leaf scents. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, quite hard in the mid-palate with a peppery but I have to say, charmless finish.
