Medium ruby-red. Brooding aromas of dark raspberry and fruity dark chocolate suggest a dense wine. Fine-grained, deep and strong, displaying lovely minerality and violet lift and no rusticity. This very dense but juicy Pommard wine finishes with chocolatey tannins and excellent length. One really sees the warm vintage here.

Cask sample. Plummy, ripe fruit with a strong liquorice and blackcurrant character. The dark side of Pinot Noir. Lots of charming perfume too, which gives a welcome lift on the finish. This makes the best of the ripeness of 2015. (RH)
