Like last year, the 2022 Morey-Saint-Denis Village is more generous on the nose than the Chambolle Village: dark cherries and crushed violet scents - commendable purity. The palate is medium-bodied with a granular texture, black fruit with touches of blueberry. A little chalky towards the finish. Très Morey in style - this is a well-made Village Cru.

15% whole bunches in this riper vintage. Cask sample. Mid crimson. A little darker-fruited and spicier than the Chambolle. Inviting and elegant on first impression. Refined tannins, fresh and elegant. Not as deep as the Chambolle but finely balanced between fruit and structure. (JH)
