Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2022 Grands Echézeaux Grand Cru, matured in 50% new oak, has an open and expressive bouquet with brambly red fruit, Earl Grey, and light forest floor scents, with a hint of morels in the background. It is not as opulent as the Clos de la Roche, though it conveys more Pinoté. The palate is medium-bodied with sapid black fruit. Smooth in texture with a dab of dark chocolate and vanilla, imparting a soupçon of exoticism towards the finish. Moderate length. A delicious Grands Echézeaux that might drink younger than some of "CFL's" other Grand Crus but certainly has the substance to mature in bottle.
