The 2023 Pernand-Vergelesses Île de Vergelesses 1er Cru comes from a parcel purchased by the family's great-grandmother, located on more limestone-heavy soils than the Les Vergelesses. It has a much more minerally bouquet with vivacious red cherry and raspberry fruit. The palate is ripe and generous with kirsch, Morello cherries and very light fig notes toward the finish. Drink it over the next decade.
