Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2018 Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru has a slight touch of brettanomyces on the nose, though not as acute as others. However, there is some pleasant open-knit red berry fruit here. There's an odd cordial scent that emerges with time. The palate is quite rustic with coarse tannins, sour cherry and raspberry, quite hard towards the dry finish due to some prominent wood tannins. So-so. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 red tasting.
