2013 Coche-Dury, Meursault

The 2013 Meursault (this the Narvaux bottling) has a straight-down-the-line, flinty/burnt match nose that we have all come know and love from this domaine. Frankly, nobody achieves the precision like this. The palate is very flattering with great volume married with fine acidity, hints of peach and tangerine, lively and vivacious with a long and tender finish that just goes on and on. This is one of those wines I'll be hunting for on restaurant lists around Burgundy.

I brought this bottle to our 2018 Purple Paulée from my cellar but found it a little inexpressive at this point. It is probably simply far too young. I just wanted to match the Boisson-Vadot 2013 served alongside. Perhaps a Coche Aligoté 2013 would have been more appropriate. Low key now and a slight lack of concentration and character on the palate. It did open out in the glass a little and there is no shortage of density here but a distinct lack of expression for now.
