Tasting Notes and Scores
(57-year-old vines): Bright full red. Lovely cassis and violet perfume, complicated by mineral and bitter chocolate nuances. Sweet, dense and concentrated, with dark fruit flavors complicated by mint, spicy oak and bitter chocolate. Plenty of thickness and volume here to support the oak-driven tannins. Nicely balanced wine.

57-year-old vines. Broad, smudgy sweet nose and lots of rich fruit. Chewy end. Should develop well but a bit sweeter than the norm. (JR)
