Tasting Notes and Scores
(from purchased wine): Deep ruby-red. A bit closed in on itself on the nose, hinting at kirsch , dark chocolate and violet. Concentrated and densely packed, even thick, conveying a restrained sweetness to its medicinal dark fruit, strawberry and cocoa powder flavors. A slight finishing bitterness suggests that this wine was a bit overextracted. I would not describe this as a classic Suchots; for his part, winemaker Weber prefers the 2010 and 2004 versions.
