The Evocelles has a floral bouquet with decayed rose petals complementing ripe wild strawberry and raspberry fruit. The palate has a fresh, will defined entry, nice purity here with a taut, tightly wound finish with a tart cherry aftertaste that lingers beautifully. Very fine. Tasted January 2011.

The 2009 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Evocelles is absolutely singing today. Bright red fruit, freshly cut flowers, mint and crushed rocks are woven together in this energetic, finely chiseled Gevrey. The pure, crystalline finish suggests many years of fine drinking lie ahead.
