The 2018 Saint-Aubin Sur Le Sentier du Clou 1er Cru offers apple blossom, gunflint and light nectarine aromas on a nose that requires a little encouragement from the glass. The palate is well defined, with good tension on the entry, and quite weighty in the mouth, displaying notes of ginger, shaved almond, orange peel and a hint of menthol on the persistent finish. Very fine. Drink over the next decade.

Smoky like the Meursault Tillets but more powerful. Real intensity here and notable concentration on the mid palate. Very crisp and long. Very good in this style. (JH)
