Tasting Notes and Scores
Aromas of ripe cherries, fig jam, sweet soil tones, cloves and other warm spices introduce the 2019 Monbousquet, a medium to full-bodied, rich and concentrated wine that's broad and generous, with a muscular, fruit-driven profile underpinned by plenty of powdery, generously extracted tannin.

Tasted blind. Deep crimson. Heady and rich on the nose. Savoury rather than sweet – appetising and a real food wine. Reverberant. (JR)

60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Barrel sample. Deep colour. Greater depth of dark fruit than Angélique. Palate full and plush with a menthol edge of freshness. Firm but grainy tannins behind. Bit of chew on the finish but should come round. (JL)
