Tasting Notes and Scores
Wonderful charming nose with wild strawberries, milk chocolate and raspberries. Opens up with eucalyptus and licorice. So soft and velvety on the palate with a beautiful finesse-driven texture. Full and with silky tannins. Long and very enjoyable. Drink from 2016.

Tasted at the offices of Ets. J-P Moueix, the La Grave-a-Pomerol has a more introverted bouquet – a little earthier and broody at the moment. But it lives up to its name with attractive warm gravel scents. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannins on the entry. It is not a complex Pomerol, but it is very well balanced, quite penetrating on the front palate with a keen citric thread from start to finish. Very fine. Tasted November 2012.

This is a seductive wine from an estate that normally produces wines much lighter in style. In 2010, the La Grave a Pomerol displays plenty of cherry cola notes intermixed with hints of plum sauce, Asian spices, and loamy soil undertones. It is medium-bodied, round, generous and ideal for drinking over the next decade. Drink: 2013 - 2023
