Tasting Notes and Scores
A solid red with blackberry, chocolate and some dark-walnut character. It’s medium-bodied with pretty density and creamy tannins. Finesse and class here.

The Merlot-based 2020 Le Thil is absolutely gorgeous. Deep, inky and voluptuous, Le Thil captures all the natural radiance of the year in Pessac-Léognan. Blackberry jam, chocolate, spice, new leather and incense build as the 2020 shows off its curvy, racy personality. Pretty floral notes lift the finish. This clay/limestone property, unusual for Pessac-Léognan, performed brilliantly. The 2020 is one of the best recent vintages I can remember tasting. It's a total knock-out.

The 2020 Le Thil Comte Clary has a tightly wound nose that needs 15–20 minutes to settle down. Blackberry, mulberry and light inky scents gradually emerge. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins matched with a fine bead of acidity. Gentle and plush toward the finish, leaving a prickle of white pepper on the aftertaste, this is a fine Pessac-Léognan that will drink well for 12–15 years. - vinous.com

Deep in color, the wine is lush, round, forward and fruity, with a dark plum, cigar wrapper and cocoa profile. The medium-bodied wine ends with a polished fruit-filled, chocolate-covered cherry finish. This is already deceptively easy to taste and should be quite nice to drink on release. 89-91
