Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2014 Lacoste-Borie was showing a little earthiness on the nose, perhaps not quite as pure and as defined as I would have been hoping. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly chewy tannin, grainy in texture with brambly red fruit laced with baking powder and white pepper towards what feels like a light finish. I must admit that given the barrel showing, I was hoping for more from this.

67% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc. 33 hl/ha. Attractive freshness and ease on the nose – nothing forced. Sinews and by no means opulent but correct and fresh. Though a little drying on the end. Relatively light but a nice, satisfying finish. Made to be a luncheon claret! (JR)
