Tasting Notes and Scores
Based on Merlot from the cool, clay-limestone terroirs of Saint-Christophe-des-Bardes, the 2022 Le Carillon d'Angélus offers up aromas of sweet berries, plums, orange zest, cigar wrapper and creamy new oak. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and layered, it's deep and dense, with lively acids, sweet tannins and a gently lactic finish.

The 2022 Le Carillon d'Angélus is a rich, boisterous wine. Succulent dark cherry, plum, chocolate, new leather and licorice are nicely pushed forward. Racy and pliant, the 2022 Carillon is showing quite well in this tasting.

The 2022 Le Carillon d'Angélus represents the fourth vintage produced in the new cellar. This is a significant level up from the No. 3 in terms of fruit concentration: black cherries, raspberry coulis, violet and incense. The palate is medium-bodied, fresh and mineral-driven, with pliant tannins, fine tension and a sorbet finish. This very capable Le Carillon deserves two or three years in bottle.
