Aromas of sweet berries, cherries, cardamom and shoe polish introduce the 2023 Blason d'Issan, followed by a medium-bodied, supple and fleshy palate and concluding with a somewhat metallic, drying finish. It's a blend of 49% Cabernet Sauvignon, 47% Merlot and 4% Malbec.

49% Cabernet Sauvignon, 48% Merlot, 3% Malbec. Cask sample. Lighter crimson hue. Red fruit to the fore. Juicy and sweet with a lighter tannic frame. Bit of chew on the finish. Lacks a bit of excitement. (JL)
